25. “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” is a song written by Gill Scott Heron. Before Run-DMZ, before The Sugarhill Gang and the rock genre of Hip-Hop there was Gill Scott Heron. The revolution that Gill Scott Heron was referencing is not over by a long shot, but then Gill Scott Heron may have predicted it correctly with the last stanza: “The revolution will not be televised / Will not be televised / Will not be televised / Will not be televised / The revolution will be no re-run, brothers / The revolution will be live.”
