Sympathy for the Devil
8. "Sympathy For The Devil", is a song by The Rolling Stones that was written by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. Synopsis: The singer (Jagger), in the persona of the devil acknowledges some of the world’s most onerous events including the Passion of Christ, the assassination of Czar Nicholas II and his family, and the Blitzkrieg. However, the key to understanding the song lies in the lines “I shouted out / Who killed the Kennedys? / When after all / IT WAS YOU AND ME”. Although it’s easy to blame others for atrocities, the blame rests with mankind and its inability to stop these acts.
