Joe Cocker

204. Joe Cocker was "without doubt the greatest rock/soul singer ever to come out of Britain.” Paul McCartney said that he “was especially pleased when Joe decided to cover 'With a Little Help from My Friends”, and went on to describe it as “mind-blowing, totally turned the song into a soul anthem and I was forever grateful to him for doing that."  Paul was so impressed with Joe Cocker's singing and his version of “With a little help from my friends” that he offered “Let It Be” to Cocker in 1969, before the Beatles released it as a single, and George Harrison offered Joe “Something” before he recorded it. “Feeling Alright” is a song by Traffic that was made famous when Joe Cocker included it as part of his Woodstock set list. It was written by David Loeffler, Damon Butler, Phillip Gordy, Darric Graham, and Donald Parker.
