Weatherman

22. Weatherman.

"You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows,” is a line from the Bob Dylan song “Subterranean Homesick Blues”. It is generally interpreted as the ability to understand obvious truths, without needing advice from authorities or the media. I’m reminded of the times when you went out to fly a kite, wet your finger, and held it up in the air to feel which way the wind was blowing. But now we might also look at zeitgeist today and understand that the way politicians manipulate the media to serve their own needs and understand that we don’t need an expert to tell you that there is a political movement bent on reinterpreting the constitution. We don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing.
